About LIVsafe Nashville

LIVsafe was founded by Paolo and Kelsey Guarisco.

Throughout my career as a safety professional, I’ve pursued extensive training and certifications, most notably earning the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation. Preparation for this rigorous exam deepened my understanding of how safety and health intersect with daily life. I also earned the Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (CEAS 1) designation, which allows me to assess workspaces, postures, and environments to prevent strain and injury. These experiences reinforced a core belief: many incidents can be prevented through thoughtful design and planning of our surroundings.

My personal experiences have profoundly shaped my approach to safety. The early birth of our first child during the pandemic highlighted the importance of secure, supportive environments. Observing the safety measures in the delivery room and NICU reinforced the value of proactive planning in critical moments.

In addition, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with my mother during her career as a caregiver, helping to design spaces that support daily caregiving needs while maintaining safety, comfort, and accessibility. These experiences, combined with reflections on my grandmother and great-grandmother — for whom I wanted reassurance that they were safe and supported in their home — inspired me to take a hands-on approach to safety. I even personally evaluated their home to identify risks and improvements, further cementing my commitment to practical, real-world solutions.

This dedication led me to pursue expertise in home safety and accessibility, earning the Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation through the National Association of Home Builders. This training emphasizes practical modifications and universal design strategies that allow individuals to remain safely and independently in their homes, while also benefiting family members, caregivers, and visitors.

Outside of my professional work, I cherish time with my wife and two sons and serve the Nashville community as a board member for Rebuilding Together Nashville, helping preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize neighborhoods.
